Philadelphia lies right between New York City and Washington, D.C., it is also one of the most historic cities in North America. This sacred and heavily guarded place is the U.S. national landmark where “Declaration of Independence” was eventually announced by President Thomas Jefferson on 4 July, 1776.

The Independence National Historic Park is located right at the heart of downtown Philadelphia. It is dubbed “America’s most historic square mile,” and is famous for the two historic sites of America that symbolize freedom—the Liberty Bell and the Independence Hall.

William Penn first sailed up the Delaware River in the fall of 1682 aboard the ship Welcome, and landed in the now Philadelphia. Penn’s Landing, where he initially landed by barge, had quickly grown to become the centre of the city of Philadelphia later.

Tamanend (1628–1698) was a chief of the Unami, or Turtle, clan of the Lenni-Lenape nation in the Delaware Valley. He was best known for his instrumental role in the establishment of peaceful relations among the native American tribes and the English settlers led by William Penn.

Since her launching in Scotland in 1904, the Moshulu had a long and exciting career on the seas working the ports of Europe, South America, Australia, and Africa. Today, Moshulu is a floating restaurant docked in Penn’s Landing. She is also the largest four-masted sailing ship in the world still afloat.
